Bath, ME - March 4, 2010 -- The CompTIA Strata IT Technology class -- Burgess Computer's new entry-level IT certificate program -- starts March 29th, 2010. The Strata IT Technology Certificate Training program will focus on everyday users who want to learn appropriate computer and network concepts and terminology, computer hardware, software and network troubleshooting basics, compatibility issues and common errors, security risks and prevention, "Green IT" concepts, and preventative maintenance techniques.

The Strata curriculum and associated certificate are ideal for people who want to troubleshoot their own technical issues and become more confident in the increasingly technical workplace. If you are new to the IT job market, are switching careers to IT, want to better understand your own business technology, or just want to be the tech hero in your own home, Strata covers basic through technical concepts in an easy-to-understand, hands-on environment.  Strata is also a great "step-up" to the more intense CompTIA A+ IT Technician certification course.

Classes start Monday, March 29 and run 7 weeks through Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Hours are Monday and Wednesday evenings 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There are no prerequisites -- comfort using Windows XP, Vista or similar operating system is encouraged but not required. Students should be willing to learn material that becomes increasingly technical.

Enrollment forms, course objectives, and further information about course, costs, and materials can be found on the Burgess Computer training site at www.burgesscomputer.com/training, or by calling Kate Carpenter or Iman Poeraatmadja at 207-443-9554.
