Maineville is your digital front porch, a chance to catch up with neighbors, talk about how business is going, show off pictures of the kids or fulminate about the latest town council decision. This site is a social network with a difference - Maineville isn't organized around some made-up online theme - it's definitely not fonduefans4ever.com. This is about the town you live in, the people you see at the grocery store, the events that affect your life.
If you don't see your town among the 24 we've started with, there's no reason to despair. Get a local group together, tell us you'd like to see your town in Maineville and we'll start working on it. The best way to persuade us you're serious is to post your news, pictures, videos and blogs in the Maineville town nearest you. We'll take the hint.
Your News: This area is for short news briefs, press releases, promotions, family milestones, community news coverage and more!
Calendar: Post your club, school, organization or business events here. Do you know the dates for your town meeting, chamber events, festivals or fairs?
Photos & Video: Did you take pictures or video of a Little League game, concert, play, sporting event or community gathering? Want to share them with others or see what pictures/video your neighbors have taken?
Blogs: What's on your mind about your community? Want to sound off on a new town initiative? Give kudos to a good neighborly deed? This is your space to speak your mind, share ideas and talk about the happenings in your town.
Are you your town's iHost?
You could be if you are outgoing, involved and enjoy knowing what's going on in your town. An iHost gets the discussion moving -- inviting people to post news and photos and pointing out when that happens, schools, praising good deeds and providing constructive criticism.
IHosts comment on local events they attend, take photos and offer insight into town activities. IHosts are what keep communities alive and growing, and if you are that kind of person, we have the place for you to reach more friends and neighbors than ever before. Right here in Maineville.

I won't be seeing any fireworks displays,as they are a terrible waste of money.
The 4th of July is not a celebration of freedom and independance for me anymore. I'd rather celebrate with fireworks when this administration is ushered out.
Right on, Ladyslipper!
Won't be able to see fireworks as it will be raining...
Going to Bangor :) daughter is 8 ...she will love them.
YEAH, YEAH LADY SLIPPER....
AMom'sOpinion: I hope you and your daughter enjoy the fireworks in Bangor.......I am sure my 6 yr old granddaughter will too. Let's hope the rain holds off. Have a good time!
A waste of money is the tax payer paying to fly you and your wife from washington dc to NYC for date night or sending atr force one to buzz NYC for a photo-op. Fire works on the fourth to celebrate our independence ,worth every penny, unless your not proud to be an american.
I think it is great that we can still do fireworks here in Maine despite our economy.. it gives many Mainer's hope out there.. but for us we are having other things going on and my son of 12 is going with a church group and going to be in the parade so will be seeing the fireworks on his own with the church group this year. :)
So i am happy of that!
And I hope all with children are able to see it.. we used to when my kids were younger.. but to be honest being from Back West where they have an hour worth of fireworks.. a 15 minute or 30 minute show does not cut it for me anymore ;)
Everyone have a safe 4th of july!
